About Myles

Thank you for stopping by Myles’ site.  Our goal here is to allow visitors to find out more about Myles.  Myles Mancuso is 12 years old, he continues to be recognized by music and entertainment professionals. His ability to play multiple Instruments and express his creativity in a number of ways is impressive for his age.

Myles’ creative talent revealed itself at an early age; at 3 years old it was evident he had performing in his nature, he would dress up and meticulously emulate the performances from some of his early favorites (Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Ray Charles and James Brown). He enjoyed doing this for as many family and friends as he could capture in one place. He would sit for long periods and just soak in their video taped performances.

As Myles grew, his creative abilities were hard to overlook. He would sit on his dad’s drum set and play the many songs he learned from start to finish (by the age of 5 he was able to play a full drum set).  He particularly enjoyed playing to Elvis and  Beatles' songs.

With a flare for music and entertainment emerging by 5 he was enrolled in a Yamaha Music Instruction Program for the piano.  It was a very positive experience and he quickly progressed to the point where it was evident he would benefit further from classical piano instruction. At the age of seven he was entered into private classical piano lessons.

Myles now appreciates many styles of music and likes to learn songs using his advanced abilities; by ear.  In the 2nd grade he figured-out a number of patriotic songs he heard his music teacher playing to the class. He put them together in a medley and performed them in the “Hudson Valley Kids Expo” talent show where he was one of the few who won the ability to perform at the prestigious “Bardavon Opera House”.

Myles’ ability to perform and use his imagination drew him to theatrical endeavors, he performed for the first time on stage at the age of  8.  He sang, danced and acted in a very successful production of “Little Shop of Horrors” put on by the Trinity Players. The Director; Cory Ann Fasano has had a number of years experience with Broadway productions and said of Myles at the closing cast party, “Myles is the most creative person I’ve ever worked with”.  He played his first television part on the FOX TV show "Rescue Me" starring Denis Leary,  he is looking forward to more TV and movie roles.

In April of 2004 Myles received his first bass guitar as a gift from his Grandmother. -- (He had wanted one for close to a year). Within 10 weeks of first receiving it he had gone through 4 full instructional DVDs, (Bert Casey’s Instructional DvD was especially helpful). Myles started to appreciate the blues as he learned more about the bass. Within a short time after beginning on bass he got the opportunity to meet Levon Helm. Levon recognized Myles’ advanced abilities and asked the 8-year-old to sit in playing bass with Levon’s blues band at an outdoor concert in Woodstock. Myles stepped in for Mike Merrit, of the Conan O’Brien Show Band and amazed the crowd with his natural abilities.
