Myles live with Levon; "Blues in the Schools":
( Levon Helm Blues
Band - Check out the B.i.t.S Page)
Myles plays at John Jay High School. Levon asked Myles to represent the future of the blues and sit in to inspire the youth watching the program. Blues in the Schools has been presented successfully across the U S and Canada. This was the first time ever in New York State. It was a complete success Levon & Myles are looking forward to more.
This was
a chance for Myles to sit in on a few instruments with a number of
experienced players from the area. This project was called the "Future
of the Blues Band". In this video you can see Myles making child's
play out of a "Swinging Flat Tire" type groove. He makes it look
much easier than it is -- as a drummer myself for many years,
I can understand the degree of difficulty drummers two and three
times his age have with that beat. Look for more performances from
this project coming soon.
Myles is Live in the studio on WDST Woodstock Radio July
29th. He plays solo and talks with Gattine and Franz of the Morning
Show. This is an audio file of the interview and the solo songs
he performs live on air. The quality could be better but
the performance is great, Myles plays an instrumental song he wrote
titled "Johnson's Blues" on acoustic and another song called
"Moon over the Hill" by one of his favorite artists, Tab Benoit. Click
on one of the images to the left to hear the whole interview/ performance (about
12 mins).
Myles was asked to participate in the Levon Helm Day festivities in
There were a number
of bands performing that day on the Village Green in
Myles is selected to be a part of Sid Bernstein's New Artist Showcase at the Cutting Room in NYC commemorating the 42nd Anniversary of the Beatles debut performance in America at Carnegie Hall.
Sid Bernstein is the promoter who brought the Beatles to America as well as the Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Moody Blues and others. He is a bonafide visionary that has worked with some of the most popular musicians of our time, names like Ray Charles, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis and James Brown to name only a few. Myles is playing Guitar, Bass and Piano backed by his dad on drums.

Myles plays guitar along side
Jimmy Vivino-Guitar, Mike Merritt-Bass, Jerry Vivino-Sax; all of the
Conan O’Brien Late Show Band, as well as Brian Mitchell-piano, of
the Bob Dylan band and legendary Blues Harp player Little Sammy
Davis.. The sound is not great on these videos but Myles smoked, having
an absolutely great time jamming with the big boys.
Myles was invited to be the subject of the weekly Time Warner Cable Music Entertainment Show "Poughkeepsie Live".
On June 29th the half hour program was dedicated to Mojo Myles. he played 6 songs (3 Guitar and 3 Piano) with an interview segment with host Michael Dell. Backing up Myles is his band the Blue Ryders, with his dad Nick on Drums and Bob Jeager on Bass. The performance is filmed live and broadcast as it happens. Poughkeepsie Live is in it's 15th season and recently won a Cable Telly Award for it's exceptional programing and production. The program features musicians from the tri-state area and beyond.
