14 year old Myles Mancuso is billed around New York City as "New York City's Youngest Working Bandleader/Guitarist". He's been fronting
his own band of adult professionals since he was nine - he's played on some of the top stages in Manhattan; BB Kings, The Cutting
Room, The Iridium Jazz Club, Madison Square Garden (Knicks Half Time show),The Red Lion, Tera Blues and many other stages around the
New York City and Hudson Valley area.
He has appeared live on local radio and TV stations and has had numerous articles written
about him. Early local newspaper articles affectionately dubbed him "Mojo" Myles Mancuso and that name has stuck with him....
"The Mojo Myles Band" has Myles fronting on lead vocals and he'll switch from guitar to piano during the course of his live performances.
As Myles performs live his fan base continues to grow, his band currently has a number of steady monthly gigs at night spots in the
Hudson Valley area.
As a multi instrumentalist, in his live performances he has played Sax and Hammond Organ as well. When in
elementary school Myles won a National Award for an original song he recorded Guitar, Piano, Bass and Drums on. In 2007 a video taped
performance of an original song was licensed to the Nickelodeon Show ("I CARLY")… the video showed Myles playing 4 instruments on
one song.
Sid Bernstein (best known as the promoter who brought Beatles to America) said in an interview while promoting a show
that featured Myles in NYC; "Myles is a Bona Fide Prodigy that will Thrill and Captivate an Audience". Les Paul (Guitar
Legend) said after playing with Myles at the Iridium Jazz Club in Times Square, "He reminds me of Myself when I was a Young Boy".
Levon Helm (Recent Grammy Winner & legendary Drummer of the Band), who Myles has performed with often… says "He May Be a
Boy but he Sure Plays Like a Man". Myles has performed as a special guest a number of times with Levon Helm at "Blues in the Schools"
events appearing at various of schools in New York.
Myles' current sound has been referred to as "A Unique Blend of Rockin’ Rhythm
and Soul"..... an upbeat mix of Traditional R & B, Blues & Funk with a New Orleans Flavor. His show transcends age and
musical preferences. Referred to as "Inspiring, Educational and Emphatically Entertaining". He plays songs from James Brown, Ray Charles,
Wilson Pickett, The Meters, Johnny Cash, Booker T and the MGs and many more, along with a number of original songs. Live performances
by the Mojo Myles band have been known to induce dancing and a general feeling of jubilation.
